Today The International House of Pancakes (IHOP) is giving everyone a guilt-free reason to indulge in a free short-stack of pancakes. By teaming up with Renown Children’s Hospital, IHOP is raising money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). In return for the free pancakes, IHOP asks you consider leaving a donation to CMNH. Renown Children’s Hospital is the only CMNH-affiliated hospital in northern Nevada.

The money raised will help benefit many children including Joey Jacobsen, our 2012 CMNH Champion Child. Joey suffered a traumatic brain injury from a woodcutting accident and was treated at Renown Children’s Hospital. To date, IHOP National Pancake Day has raised $26,245 locally, helping to keep key children’s healthcare services close to home.

This year, IHOP is hoping to stack up more donations than ever before, with a national goal to raise $2.7 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. To find a local IHOP or to donate online, visit

Pancakes not your thing? IHOP will also be selling CMNH paper balloons. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals “Miracle Balloons” will be sold for $1 and $5 each.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your kids and make a meal of it. All IHOP restaurants in Reno, Sparks, Carson City and South Lake Tahoe are participating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. today. Locate the IHOP closest to you.

On behalf of Renown Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, I’d like to personally thank you for your support.
