The Important Role of the Birth Partner

Fathers or other birth partners can provide an added element of joy, humor and support just by being in the delivery room. Because they have been the ones in constant, steady attendance throughout mom’s pregnancy, birth partners can help her stay in control.

Take the dad or birth partner out of the picture, and mom can become restless and anxious; her labor may slow down or become more difficult. Give them the right information and training, and birth partners can do great things to help mom during labor.
