Doctor’s visits for children and teenagers can be frightening and create anxiety. In my experience both as a nurse and a mom, the most common fears kids have are:
- Pain – children worry about getting a shot
- Separation – fears that the parent/guardian will leave them alone in the room
- Fear of the unknown – kids often believe the visit is going to be worse than they are being told
