Buying toys should be a simple matter of choosing something you think your child would like. Unfortunately, whether new or used, toys can pose safety hazards that parents have to guard against.

One of the most obvious factors you should keep in mind is how old your child is. Very young children will put anything in their mouths, and if they can put it in their mouths, they can choke or swallow it.
